I started to write a story today

It begins thus " It was the year everybody began to speak of coincidences, conspiracy theories swam in the mainstream, talk of the weather was restricted to executive-type board meetings and plain-crazy people who lived on the streets. Their craziness was signified and their outsider-status maintained by wearing two hats, three shirts or no shoes.
"It's raining!"
Her placard concurred. "

I think it is a rip-off of Nicholas Ainsworth.

The chapbook mentioned in our first post (paintings by Laetitia, a long short-story by me) is still going to happen. I am struggling to finish the story.
